Kammanassie Blue Farm is situated in the majestic Klein Karoo between the Stompdrift Dam and the Kammanassie Nature Reserve in the Western Cape. It’s a 15 minute drive (±12km) on good gravel roads from the closest town De Rust and a 40minute (±50km) drive from
Oudtshoorn. The hunting area on the farm is ±6500 hectares of spectacular scenery with open plains, acacia forests, giant mountains & deep green kloofs.
Hunting Camp & Accommodation
The luxurious hunting camp’s panoramic view of the Swartberg mountain range is unmatched. It consists of a large open plan kitchen/bar/dining area and two en-suite chalets that can accommodate 6 hunters comfortably.
A third chalet, with an outdoor ablution block can accommodate an additional 2 hunters.
For your evenings around the camp fire, there is a large outdoor boma area with camp chairs where you are able to relax and braai and even take a dip in the splash pool.
The camp runs on solar power with cell phone charging points in the main area and all chalets. Cell phone signal for most service providers is available at the camp and at certain spots in the hunting area.
The kitchen is fully equipped with cutlery, crockery and all cooking utensils plus a large modern Bosch stand up fridge to keep your food & drinks cold. Other kitchen appliances include a gas hobb and gas freezer.
Up-market clean linen and bath towels are provided for every group and two cleaning staff will service the camp every day during your stay.
All hunting parties should consist of a minimum of 4 hunters for a minimum of three nights.
For the 2021 season we will be employing 3 hunting guides that are extremely proficient hunters in this area to ensure success. Most of the hunting on the farm is done on foot and as the terrain is mountainous, a fair level of fitness is required.
You are welcome to use your own 4X4 vehicle to access the hunting area & recover shot animals but if you prefer not to, a fully equipped Toyota Hilux and Land Cruiser bakkie with driver are also available for hire at very reasonable rates.
Silencers on rifles are encouraged if possible and no shots may be taken from or near vehicles. Our hunting season is 5 months and starts on 24th April and closes on 26th September for 2021.
Meat handling & processing
The farm boasts a well-equipped butchery including two cold rooms where your carcasses may be hung at no charge until your departure.
We can also process your meat into the following products: Biltong (dried), Dry Wors (dried), Boerewors, Mince & Steaks at a cost of R45.00/kg carcase weight (on hook with skin & head off).
