Description

The Balele Game Park is a registered private nature reserve that surrounds the town of Utrecht, creating the unique concept of “Utrecht Town Within a Game Park”.

Topography & Vegetation
The Balele Game Park is made of many different vegetation types from Valley Bushveld, to mountain forest, from open vlei land to savannah, the game park lies up the face of the Balelesberg and over the Knight’s Hill mountain, with a wide variety of hunting areas to suite all tastes.

Size

The property covers an area of 2 500ha (6 100 acre), all game fenced into three large blocks.

 

Accommodation

The Kiepersol lodge is nestled on the slopes of the mountain, overlooking the game park and surrounding areas. It has four units that sleep a total of 18 people and has a beautiful lapa around a magnificent wild fig tree.

Game Species
Fourteen species of game can be found on the property, which are hunted on a regular basis, the species game on the property for hunting in 2017 include the following species:

  • Grey Duiker
  • Blesbuck
  • Mountain Reedbuck
  • Impala
  • Red Hartebeest
  • Blue Wildebeest
  • Nyala
  • Waterbuck
  • Kudu
  • Eland
  • Zebra
  • Giraffe
  • Warthog.

Hunting Facilities

Excellent facilities available, all slaughtering done on premises by excellent skinners.

Fishing, Golf course, squash and tennis courts, country club.

Specialties

Hunting in the game park is well established, with excellent staff and facilities. The game in the game park tends to stay very approachable making hunting a rewarding

experience.

Certain areas in the game park are declared no hunting areas which contribute to the relatively approachable game.
